About

Bonjour! My name is Ayline Koning

I am an artist & designer hailing from Provence, France , with Dutch origins.

Fluent in French - English - Dutch / conversant in German / basic Italian.

 CV

In 1995 I discovered a new field training shortly at the Ecole Nationale de la Photographie , Arles

& studied Art & Architecture at the Louvres, Paris

before achieving a 1st degree in product design at the known ENSAAMA College, Paris

I then started working for a trend setting / advertising agency, then joined Citroen as a colour and trim designer.

After a 2nd degree in transportation design at Coventry University in the UK,

I gained a Masters of Art at the Royal College of Art in London: this is where I was sponsored by Land Rover.

Winner of the Renault competition in the 1st year with my interior design,

Pilkington also awarded me for the best overall design for my main 2nd year project, Aura.

I was the 1st woman to receive the prestigious Giugiaro Award for Innovation.

From 2002 I worked for Land Rover main and advanced design studios

being involved with show cars like the Range Stormer

& later on projects for BMW, Spyker, Chrysler, Kia, Toyota, Mercedes Benz and Aston Martin.

I then started as a free-lance, designing with French designer Philippe Starck,

which took me contracting in Sweden, Germany, working for premium brands, specialising in the field of luxury.

Once back in the UK in 2008, I became head of design focusing on bespoke products for private clients

up until I took a career break to start a family.

Whilst 2014 saw me participating in various private projects,

2021 was the year that my career re-launched full throttle.

Introducing Ayline Koning

Press Coverage

WHERE >

Based in Stratford - upon - Avon, I offer my versatile creativity & design services in the Midlands & the Cotswolds as well as further afield (France...).

WHY >

I am a problem solver, detail orientated. I will add value and beauty with logic. My Experience brings efficiency.

Being a designer is not just a job. It defines who I am, the way I look at the world with a creative and open eye, focusing on quality.

It does not leave you when you leave work.

I adapt to a new environment every time, aiming to imagine a new story & immerse everyone in an inspiring place, full of interest with sustainability in mind. A real sensory experience that will hopefully be imprinted in ones memory.

WHAT >

From staging / full interiors - bespoke art pieces & art installations to bespoke furniture, 3D objects / products.

With my enthusiasm, inspiration & a drop of french flair, I can add "un certain je ne sais quoi" that will make your new creations or space both unique & meaningful without any chance for a "déjà vu".

HOW >

No matter what we are dealing with: design & spaces are all about colours - materials & proportions.

Understanding how they interact with each other or how they impact on their environment & people..

The quality & finish of the surfaces - the attention to every detail are what I care most about to deliver a perfect result.

In addition lighting is key to a successful recipe, completing the interior by giving you an atmosphere you dream to bathe in.

After a consultation, critical to understand your lifestyle, needs & budget, my expertise will allow me to come up with the appropriate creative solutions for our further discussion in order that we build together a clear & solid foundation for all aspects of your project.

This will help all parties achieve an inspiring end result in the most efficient, seamless way.

Note that the humain brain acquires 90% of its information from sight & hearing, with the remaining from smell, touch & taste. 5 to 16% of the general population have symptoms of sensory processing disorder.

This is higher for people with autism & ADHD.

15 to 20% of the population have high sensory processing sensitivity

which means greater sensitivity to the environment & social stimuli.

1.7 million school pupils in England have been identified SEN.

That sensitivity has been hidden from me on a previous design project & if I would have known about it I would have included those important needs to my design choices.

Colour preferences, patterns, textures, sound of switches, layout, lighting & more can make a real difference on how one can feel at home.

I would take care to create a special & safe environment for you with the upmost discretion.

I would also recommend to think about the above for commercial projects.

I always have a very hands on approach whilst being both fluid & flexible in order to meet your ambitions & managing within your prefered time frame.

This overall experience can involve you as much as you like.

Weather your project space is 1 piece - 1 room  - a whole house  - an office or a holiday let, I will be equally as passionate to provide you with a high - end & stylish result.
