BIOGRAPHY:Ayline Koning
I am an artist & designer hailing from Provence, France , with Dutch origins.
In 1995 I discovered a new field training shortly at the Ecole Nationale de la Photographie , Arles
and studied Art & Architecture at the Louvres, Paris
before achieving a 1st degree in product design at the known ENSAAMA College, Paris.
I then started working for a trend setting / advertising agency, then joined Citroen as a colour and trim designer.
After a 2nd degree in transportation design at Coventry University in the UK,
I gained a Masters of Art at the Royal College of Art in London: this is where I was sponsored by Land Rover.
Winner of the Renault competition in the 1st year with my interior design,
Pilkington also awarded me for the best overall design for my main 2nd year project, Aura.
I was the 1st woman to receive the prestigious Giugiaro Award for Innovation.
From 2002 I worked for Land Rover main and advanced design studios
being involved with show cars like the Range Stormer
& later on projects for BMW, Spyker, Chrysler, Kia, Toyota, Mercedes Benz and Aston Martin.
I then started as a free-lance, designing with French designer Philippe Starck,
which took me contracting in Sweden, Germany, specialising in the field of luxury.
Once back in the UK in 2008, I became head of design focusing on bespoke products for private clients
up until I took a career break to start a family.
Whilst 2014 saw me participating in various private projects, 2023 is the year that my career re-launches full throttle.
